III International Forum Professional Mobile Radio Communications held on October 56, it is the only sectorial event in Russia, reflecting the latest trends and issues in professional radio communications market. The event was organised by infor-media Russia with support of TETRA International Association. DMR Association became a media partner of the Forum. More than 200 experts of professional mobile radio communications (PMR) participated in the event including representatives of oil, transportation, gas-producing companies, systems integrators and professional radio communications operators, representatives of law enforcement agencies, emergency services and federal communications agencies.

The event included an independent Expo where Siemens IT Solutions and Services, Motorola, RKK Mobile Radio Systems, TRBOnet, Panorama Antennas and Communication Technologies introduced the latest PMR network deployment models, advanced technologies and up-to-date user terminals. These and other technical solutions were highlighted at the event sessions in details.

Within two days of the Forum the participants gained a detailed overview of the industry, identified the most critical points of the market and exchanged professional experiences with the colleagues.

The present state of the global PMR TETRA standard market was reported by Phil Kidner, CEO, TETRA Association. Tom Mockridge, the Chairman of the Technical Working Group and Real DMR Sector Director, DMR Association, reviewed DMR standard specifics and its prospects in Russia and the world. Oleg Sobolev, CEO, Wireless Ukraine Association, estimated professional mobile radio communications development in Ukraine.

PMR projects implementation for law enforcement agencies, public security services, corporate users and large objects was presented at the event. Sergei Chivilevs, CTO, Integra Pro report was of particular interest to the audience. He offered his vision of the current professional radio communications solutions and reviewed them in comparison. After the presentation, reflecting TETRA projects implementation in Russia and abroad, made by Konstantin Koledinov, CEO, MAG, a spirited debate arose. Peter Clemons, CEO, TETRA Association reportedabout use of PMR systems in emergency situations, in particular during Haiti natural disaster. Trial operation results of radio communications TETRA standard system at the largest oil company LLC RN-Yuganskneftegaz was presented by Sergei Markelov, Head of Radio Technology Telecommunications Department, RN-Inform,Nefteyugansk.

Oleg Talypov, Regional Technical Manager, Motorola, reported about possible broadband data transmission solutions for law enforcement agencies. In particular he focused on surveillance systems, providing communications with mobile objects, the rapidly deployable communications complexes, backup and temporary trunk lines. Digital Hytera Solutions for law enforcement and public security agencies were demonstrated by Vanya Tan, Senior Sales Manager for Russia, Hytera Communications Corporation.

Set of reports was devoted to introduction and use of PMR systems in transport. Sergei Makarov, CEO, RKK - Mobile Radio Systems, spoke about data transmission including video images in DIMETRA IP system of Saint-Petersburg underground. Application of TETRA systems based on IP-technologies to improve road safety was reported by Vladimir Gostenin, Professional Mobile Radio Communications Department Director, ROHDE & SCHWARZ RUS. Alexander Verigo, Head of Communications Department, NIIAS spoke about digital radio communications in the Russian Railways.

Vladislav Tamarkin, Deputy Director, Centre for Strategic Studies NIIAS, gave precise consideration of possibility to use RFID tags in railway transport. PMR frequency-spatial planning was presented by Andrei Gritsenko, CEO, Severnaya Korona. Senior Marketing Manager for Integrated Solutions in the EMEA region, Stephen Norskotta (Motorola), explained to the participants priority of TETRA standard for oil industry.
